Synopsis
Now that Philou Louzolo is breaking through as one of the biggest afro house DJs, his niece (and director) Wietske realizes she knows very little about the time before his breakthrough as an artist. That raises questions. How did music change his life? And is there a difference between Philou the artist and Philou the person? The short documentary AFRICAN GOLD explores the meaning of music, the value of chosen family, and the universal search for a sense of home.
