Synopsis
Every winter in the Lötschental she wreaks her mischief: the Tschäggättä. This short documentary plunges into a tradition poised between past and present. In a world that grows faster, louder and more exposed, it embodies something that refuses to adapt, even though it ultimately must. The film offers an unpolished glimpse of a figure that slips through our grasp and maybe lives on precisely because of that. Shortly after the shoot, a landslide destroyed the village of Blatten and with it an important part of the valley and the tradition. The question of what endures and what changes has since become even more present.
